Common specifications and types of j1939 to obd2 cables
The common specifications and types of J1939 to OBD2 cables are as follows:
By interface type
9-pin J1939 male to 16 pin OBD2 female: This is the most common type used to connect equipment with a 9-pin J1939 interface (such as diagnostic equipment for heavy-duty trucks) to a vehicle diagnostic port with a 16 pin OBD2 interface.
9-pin J1939 female head to 16 pin OBD2 male head: opposite to the above type, it is suitable for the connection situation where the device end is J1939 female head and the vehicle end is OBD2 male head, but relatively rare.
By Function Type
Standard conversion cable: only realizes physical connection and signal conversion between J1939 interface and OBD2 interface, used for conventional vehicle diagnosis and data reading.
Y-shaped splitter cable: It has one J1939 interface and two or more OBD2 interfaces, or one OBD2 interface and two or more J1939 interfaces, and can simultaneously connect multiple devices for diagnosis or data transmission, such as GPS trackers and scanning tools.
Shielded cable: A shielding layer is added inside the cable, usually a double-layer shielding structure of aluminum foil and woven mesh, which can effectively reduce electromagnetic interference, improve the stability and reliability of signal transmission, and is suitable for places with complex electromagnetic environments, such as industrial sites or near vehicle engines.
