Adaptation and Optimization of J1939 Cable in Electric Heavy duty Vehicles
With the acceleration of the electrification transformation of heavy vehicles, J1939 cables are facing new adaptation needs, no longer limited to the communication scenarios of traditional fuel equipment, but specially optimized for core requirements such as high-voltage environment, battery management, and motor control of electric heavy vehicles, becoming the core supporting component of the electric control system of electric heavy vehicles. Compared with the J1939 cable used in traditional fuel vehicles, electric vehicle specific cables need to balance signal transmission and high-voltage protection, achieving a dual improvement in communication stability and safety.

In electric heavy-duty vehicles, J1939 cables are mainly used for communication between battery management systems (BMS), motor controllers, and vehicle controllers (VCU), transmitting key data such as battery SOC, motor speed, and high-voltage circuit status, which directly affects the vehicle's range, power output, and safety performance. To adapt to high-voltage environments, cables need to use high-voltage resistant insulation materials, optimize shielding structures, prevent high-voltage electromagnetic interference signal transmission, and have flame retardant and anti leakage characteristics to avoid safety hazards in high-voltage scenarios.
At present, J1939 cables suitable for electric heavy-duty vehicles have achieved technological upgrades. With the increasing penetration rate of electric heavy-duty vehicles, the high-voltage adaptation technology of J1939 cables will become a key focus of industry research and development.
