Marine ship equipment (such as ship propulsion systems, power generation systems, navigation systems) operates in a special environment with high humidity, high salt spray, strong vibration, extreme temperature, and other issues. The waterproof, salt spray resistant, corrosion-resistant, and vibration resistant performance of J1939 cables is extremely high. Compared with cables used in heavy land equipment, ship specific J1939 cables require special adaptation to meet the needs of marine environments.

The core adaptation point of J1939 cable for ships is waterproof and salt spray resistant, designed with IP68 waterproof rating, and the sheath is made of salt spray resistant and corrosion-resistant fluororubber material to prevent seawater and salt spray from corroding the cable and causing damage to the insulation layer; At the same time, the cable joint adopts a sealed design and adds waterproof sealant to prevent seawater from entering the inside of the joint. In terms of anti vibration, multiple strands of thin copper wire twisted conductors are used to enhance the flexibility of the cable, while optimizing the fixing method to avoid cable breakage caused by strong vibrations during ship navigation.


In addition, ship specific J1939 cables also need to have flame retardant properties, comply with the flame retardant standards of the shipbuilding industry, and avoid fire accidents. Currently, ship specific J1939 cables have been widely used in equipment such as ocean going ships and offshore engineering ships, becoming the core communication component of ship electrical control systems.
