How to extend the service life of J1939 cable

Proper use can extend the lifespan of J1939 cables by the following methods.

Environmental optimization: When modifying or repairing vehicles, try to arrange J1939 9-pin cables in areas far away from high temperatures, high voltages, and areas prone to water accumulation; If unavoidable, it is necessary to install insulation sleeves or waterproof protective covers for the cables to reduce environmental damage to the cables.

Load control: Ensure that the ECU load connected to the cable meets the current carrying capacity of the cable, and strictly prohibit the additional parallel connection of high-power devices on the cable to avoid conductor overheating and accelerated aging of the insulation layer.

Regular replacement: Even if the cable has no obvious faults, it is recommended to develop a replacement cycle based on the usage environment to avoid potential faults caused by cable aging (such as insulation layer failure and decreased shielding effectiveness).
