The most obvious difference is the connector design: ordinary J1939 cables use straight connectors, and the connectors are distributed in a straight line with the cable. Sufficient space for straight lines needs to be reserved during wiring; The right angle J1939 cable adopts a 90 ° right angle joint, which is vertically distributed with the cable and can be installed in conjunction with the equipment casing or circuit board without leaving too much straight space, especially suitable for wiring in narrow areas.


In terms of installation adaptability, ordinary straight end cables are more suitable for scenarios where the internal space of the equipment is open and the wiring path is simple, with convenient installation and lower cost; The right angle J1939 cable is optimized for compact space scenarios, which can effectively avoid problems such as core wire breakage and signal attenuation caused by excessive cable bending, and reduce maintenance costs in the later stage. In addition, the sealing performance of the right angle connector is better, and its waterproof and oil proof effect is more prominent in areas with more oil and water vapor such as the engine compartment. In terms of signal transmission, there is no essential difference between the two, both supporting a transmission rate of 250kb/s, which can meet the real-time communication needs between heavy-duty equipment ECUs.
