Testing and Verification after Installing J1939 to J1708 Cable
Communication function test
J1939 end: Use a CAN analyzer to send/receive messages and verify the correctness of PGN (parameter group number) and SPN (suspicious parameter number).
J1708 end: Check the integrity of MID (message ID) and data frames through a diagnostic instrument or oscilloscope.
Example: Send J1939 message and confirm that J1708 can correctly parse and display it.
Error rate and stability monitoring
Error rate: Run continuously for 24 hours and calculate the error rate.
Stability: Simulate environments such as vibration and high temperature, and observe whether communication is interrupted or data is abnormal.
Troubleshooting
Common problems: Loose connectors, ungrounded shielding layer, missing terminal resistance, cable damage, etc.
Tool recommendation: Use a multimeter (to measure resistance/voltage), oscilloscope (to measure waveform), and CAN analyzer (to measure message) for diagnosis.
